The wording is “pay what you want.”
Here is my conversation with the customer service agent trying to be all clever.
- ?It says pay what you want for the bundle. Right?
- Melinda: Yep
- ?Then why is it requiring I put at least .01 in the total custom amount box?
- Melinda: Because putting 0.00 means you wouldn’t be paying
- ?Yes it does.
- Melinda: I apologize if you don’t find that to your liking. We hope that purchasers understand the costs of developing the games as well as putting together these Humble Bundles.
- ?It’s false advertising still.
- Melinda: We’re sorry you feel that way.
- ?I don’t “feel” that way. I’ve been a game reviewer for more years than you have probably been playing games.
- ?It says pay what you want, I want to pay what I want.
- Melinda: If you’d like to send in a complaint, please send it tocontact@humbl
ebundle.com and we will forward it on to the developers. - ?I think I’ll just put this conversation on twitter and my blog and let my 4 readers decide if you are telling a lie or advertising properly.
- ?But if you want to contatct me, have them email nyukid@gmail.
com - Melinda: If you’d like an official response, I humbly request you email the contact address at contact@humbl
ebundle.com. - Melinda: I am not one of the developers and don’t feel I can fully answer your questions.
- ?I’ve alraedy paid too much attention to a fake advertising effort, thank you very much.
- Melinda: I’m sorry you feel that way, and hope you have a good day.
I think if it advertises as pay what you want, then if you just want to pay lip service or pay some time to get the code and nothing more, then that is what you want to pay.
